Bristol Post call child sexual abuse a “sex romp”
The Bristol Post have joined the Bath Chronicle in referring to the sexual abuse of a child as a "sex romp". Despite the fact that John Harrasin-Worgan had pled "guilty to three charges of having sexual activity with a child ... (and) causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity", the Bristol Post thinks its acceptable to dismiss these charges as nothing more than a "sex romp". The Sexual Offences Act includes laws around the sexual abuse of children to protect them from adult men. Harrasin-Worgan can claim that the age of consent laws are "ridiculous" but he's wrong and we shouldn't be taking advice on consent from men who sexually abuse teenage girls.
The Bristol Post need to rewrite this article and apologise. They then need to implement new policies to prevent such further inappropriate and misleading coverage from occurring.
